Live review of Party San open air

Almost impossible for Ireland’s Primordial to top this brilliant gig (Desaster), but they do it anyway! The best frontman of the entire festival, Alan “Irish” Nemtheanga, didn’t leave out anything in trying to get the expectant, but tired crowd on his side. He egged us on with clear words and theatrical gestures, full of bellicose pathos – and was rewarded with riotous applause. A glance in his mad eyes, and you know this man celebrates, lives and breathes M.E:T.A.L.! Poignant hymns like ‘Gods To The Godless’, ‘The Burning Season’ and ‘Sons Of The Morrigan’ underline Alan’s super show, which was the highlight of the day for me. How did the charismatic maniac put it: “Some music still comes from the heart"!
